由于其最终产品对人类健康和环境的影响，制药行业对其产品进行了高度精确和谨慎的处理。即使很小的错误也可能导致危险。药品制造商需要对其产品从制造到包装和运输都非常精确。大气中的氧气与加工后的化学品发生反应，导致所生产药物的化学成分发生变化，这将对人类生命构成威胁，并对相关生产企业的品牌和营业额声誉产生不利影响。

氮气在制药行业中发挥着至关重要的作用，其应用范围从包装到明显不稳定的生产环境中的灭火。能够现场生产氮气的氮气发生器现在可以提供与液氮相同的纯度，帮助制药厂在不牺牲质量或效率的情况下降低成本。
液氮的运输需要将气体转化为液体，以便可以通过卡车运输。一旦到达那里，液体必须变回气体。由于这些灌装点在氮气设施处装载到运输车辆上，并在药品制造设施处再次卸载，这种双重差异造成了本可以避免的产品浪费，更不用说额外的运输成本了。最重要的是在这一切上花费的时间，这一点更为重要。
当氮气被运输到制药生产设施时，还必须在使用前就地储存，从而产生额外的不必要的浪费。一旦进入冷却罐，损失通常是输送量的10%，并且是自动的。而且，即使真空度良好，如果允许内部压力增加，由于气体保持静止，储罐每天将损失至少0.4% 的体积。清除或释放储罐压力只会产生额外的废物。
考虑一下：虽然产生液氮需要大量能量，但大约90% 的氮最终用途需要它作为气体而不是液体。液化氮气的主要原因是为了便于运输，因此转向现场氮气生产有助于降低能源成本并减少与设施日常运营相关的排放。
虽然液氮输送通道传统上可提供更高的产品纯度（这是药品生产的一个重要因素），但希特的氮气生成技术有助于提高现场氮气发生器的纯度，以弥补这一差距。因此，现场氮气生产的高纯度现在可与液体产品相媲美，并且通过适当的仪器，可以将氧气浓度测量到ppm 水平。大多数制药行业应用都可以在10 至5 ppm 的水平内得到满足，而Hit 氮气发生器XTFD-100 可以轻松实现这一目标。
